Obverse description Green intaglio-style guilloche border with ornate scrollwork frames a central oval vignette containing a colour photograph of three Labrador Retriever puppies set against a blue sky. To the left, a smaller vignette shows a dog food bowl with bone motifs, while the left and right margins carry portrait vignettes of dogs; the denomination numeral '9' appears at upper left and right corners, and 'K-9' is printed in the lower corners. The inscription 'MAN'S BEST FRIEND' runs along the lower border panel, with 'NOT LEGAL TENDER' noted beside a dog-bone graphic at right.
