Obverse description The arms of Geneva — a shield divided per pale, bearing an imperial eagle on the dexter side and a key on the sinister — displayed centrally within a beaded inner circle, surmounted by a small imperial eagle. The date appears incorporated within the surrounding Latin legend. The design is rendered in the bold, slightly irregular style characteristic of early seventeenth-century hammered billon coinage.
