| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped bust effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation. The legend 'NIUE ISLAND' arcs along the left periphery and '8000 DOLLARS' along the right, both in raised capital letters.
