Issued to mark the centennial of King Prajadhipok's birth, this piece commemorates the only Siamese monarch ever to abdicate. Rama VII relinquished the throne in 1935 while in England receiving medical treatment, citing the government's refusal to accept his conditions for constitutional reform — a quiet but pointed exit that ended the absolute monarchy era for good.
He died in Surrey in 1941, never returning to Thailand.
