| Obverse description | The crowned Portuguese royal arms occupy the centre of the field, the shield displaying the traditional quintas and bordadura of the Portuguese armorial. The denomination numeral '80' appears to the left of the shield, flanked by a floral ornament, while a corresponding floral ornament appears to the right. The date is split across both sides of the shield. A circular legend in Latin runs along the periphery within a beaded border, identifying the queen as sovereign of Portugal and Brazil. |
