Obverse description The central field displays the denomination expressed as the Roman numeral L (50) followed by three X's (XXX), together forming LXXX (80 réis), surmounted by a large royal crown rendered in high relief. Flanking the denomination numeral are decorative rosette or fleur-de-lis ornaments. The date 1811 appears in the lower field, flanked by small floral stops.
