| Obverse description | Printed in purple, green, and cream by lithography, the obverse centres on a large cartographic vignette of the Lüneburg Heath region overlaid with a rearing white horse, with key towns including Soltau, Hamburg, Bremen, Hannover, and Lüneburg linked by route lines. At lower centre, an oval portrait of the author Hermann Löns (1866–1914) is set within an arched frame bearing his name, flanked to the left by a heath shepherd with his flock and to the right by a juniper-and-heathland landscape.
