备注

Wald im Pinzgau is a small Alpine commune in the Salzburg district of Zell am See, and its decision to issue notgeld in 1921 places it among hundreds of Austrian municipalities that continued printing emergency small-change notes well after the armistice — the chronic coin shortage that began during the war dragged on into the early 1920s as the new Austrian republic struggled to stabilize its currency. The 80-Heller denomination is slightly unusual; most municipal issues clustered around rounder values, suggesting a specific local circulation gap this note was designed to fill.

E. R. Müller of Salzburg handled the printing, a regional firm that produced notgeld for numerous Salzburg-area communes during this period. Stadler's design work is the only craft element here worth noting.
