| Obverse description | Salmon-pink notgeld printed in black and red-orange. A central vignette occupies the upper portion, presenting two armed riflemen standing before a wooded background, framed by an ornate border of stylised foliage and acanthus scrollwork. The denomination numeral '80' appears in red in both upper corners, the value inscription 'Achtzig Heller' runs across the top in a decorative red banner, and a large red script legend 'Notgeld der Gemeinde Loich' dominates the lower centre above the redemption clause and three manuscript signature lines. |

Loich is a village in Lower Austria, and this 80 Heller note is a product of Austria's Notgeld period — the wave of locally-issued emergency currency that flooded the country from around 1916 onward as small-denomination coinage vanished from circulation due to wartime metal demands. The municipality turned to Druck Rödinger in nearby Mariazell for production, a regional press that handled a number of these local issues rather than the better-known Vienna houses.
The 80 Heller denomination is an odd one, not a rounding that appears in every series, which suggests the municipality was working to cover specific change gaps rather than issuing a complete decorative set.
