Beschrijving voorzijde An expressionist woodcut-style vignette in dark brown on cream occupies the upper portion, portraying the arcaded interior courtyard of Hartheim Castle with figures in period dress flanking the colonnade on either side; the denomination '80' appears in bold numerals at the upper left and right corners, with 'HELLER' in large capitals across the top centre. Opmerkingen

Hartheim is a small municipality in Upper Austria, and this 80 Heller note belongs to the wave of Austrian Notgeld issued between 1919 and 1921 when the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system left local communities unable to obtain sufficient small-denomination coinage. Municipalities, market towns, and even individual businesses printed their own emergency scrip to keep retail transactions moving — Hartheim was one of hundreds that did so.

The 80 Heller denomination is atypical. Most Notgeld series clustered around 10, 20, 50, and 75 Heller; an 80 Heller value suggests the series was designed around specific local pricing needs rather than conventional denomination logic.
