| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in dark brown and red on cream paper, the obverse carries the denomination numeral '80' in large octagonal cartouches at each upper corner, with the issuer's title in Gothic script across the top and the validity date along the lower margin. The central vignette presents an arched panoramic townscape of Amstetten, church steeples and rooftops visible beneath a large foreground tree, while the municipal coat of arms appears in ornamental red panels on both lateral sides. Decorative guilloche-style ornaments flank the coat-of-arms panels, lending the overall composition a formal civic character. |

| Opmerkingen |
Austrian municipal Notgeld of this period existed because the postwar coin shortage was severe enough that towns printed their own fractional scrip rather than wait for Vienna to supply small change. Amstetten's 1920 issues were designed locally by Anton Peschke, an unusual circumstance — most smaller Niederösterreich communes contracted out to commercial print houses and took whatever stock imagery came with the order. That a named local designer was engaged suggests the Stadtgemeinde took some civic pride in the series.
Three signatories authenticated each note: the Bürgermeister, his deputy, and the Finanzreferent — a belt-and-suspenders arrangement that was legally cautious rather than strictly necessary.
