Obverse description Printed in dark brown on olive-tan paper, the obverse carries a rectangular decorative border with geometric corner ornaments and a dotted inner frame. To the left, a finely engraved vignette presents a street view of Garsten with the Baroque abbey church tower rising above the surrounding buildings. To the right, the issuer's name 'Gemeinde Garsten' appears at the top, followed by the Gothic-script legend 'Gutschein für' and the numeral '80' in an ornate cartouche; the denomination 'Achtzig Heller' is rendered in large decorative calligraphic lettering at centre. Below, a text block states the conditions of issue, with three manuscript signatures of municipal officials — the Vice-Mayor, the Mayor, and a council member — accompanied by their respective titles.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in dark brown on the same olive-tan stock and is dominated by a large landscape vignette of the pilgrimage church of Christkindl set among trees and terraced grounds, with a manor building to the left and the domed chapel to the right; the caption 'Christkindl' appears above the scene. The issuer's name 'GEMEINDE GARSTEN' is integrated into the wide decorative border in bold Art Nouveau lettering at the top, while the denomination '80 HELLER 80' is distributed across the lower portion of the border. The entire composition is enclosed within a continuous scroll-pattern frame.
