| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, depicted as a mature crowned bust with pearl drop earring, after the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II curves along the left rim and NIUE along the upper rim, with 80 DOLLARS inscribed vertically along the right field.
