| Obverse description | The obverse is divided into two principal registers within a broad outer border adorned with a continuous band of star and snowflake ornaments. In the upper register, the Public Seal of Niue — a crowned heraldic shield featuring a stylized palm frond, flanked by laurel branches and supported on a ribbon inscribed AYUA / NIUE TUKULAGI — is displayed within a raised circular field. The lower register presents a representation of the Copernican heliocentric model: a radiant solar disc with an anthropomorphic face occupies the centre, surrounded by concentric planetary orbital rings, each inscribed with the Latin name of the corresponding planet (Mercurius, Venus, Terra, Mars, Jupiter, Saturnus) in a flowing script. Along the left border appears the legend 1000 g · Ag999, and along the right border 80 DOLLARS · 2023. |
