Obverse description Central device depicts the Bolivian national arms: a llama passant to left and a breadnut tree (Brosimum alicastrum) rising centrally, flanked by two llamas couchant at the base, all within an open landscape. The denomination '8S' appears in the lower left field, the date '1855' along the lower legend, and the assayer initials 'M·J' to the lower right, with fineness indicators '10' and '20' flanking the tree at mid-field. A wreath of ten five-pointed stars encircles the upper portion of the central device. The peripheral legend 'REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA' arcs along the upper rim, with mint mark 'PTS' and additional notation completing the circumscription, all within a beaded border.
