| Obverse description | At centre, the ornate crowned Danish coat of arms is superimposed over a long-armed cross, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The royal arms display the characteristic quartered design of the Danish realm. The peripheral legend, separated into four sections by the arms of the cross, reads in Latin and is distributed around the outer rim. The overall design reflects the elaborate heraldic style typical of late sixteenth-century Scandinavian coinage. |

The Frederiksborg mint mark, rendered as a crossed orb symbol (♁), appears at the conclusion of the outer legend. The composition is characteristic of the multi-title reverse type employed on Danish silver coinage of Frederick II. |
