| Obverse description | Crowned royal shield bearing the arms of Denmark centered over a long forked cross, the arms of the cross extending to the inner beaded circle and dividing the surrounding legend. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown in high relief. A beaded rim frames the entire design. The die work is characteristic of mid-sixteenth-century Danish hammered coinage, with the legend distributed in the four quadrants formed by the cross. |
