Obverse description Uniface note printed in black letterpress on plain paper, with the denomination abbreviation "Sch: 8 B:co" at upper centre in Gothic script. The main body carries the full Swedish-language promise text in blackletter typography, followed by the handwritten issue date "Stockholm den 26 Sept 1840" and the denomination repeated in both Swedish and Finnish. A ruled rectangular border encloses the anti-counterfeiting warning at lower centre, beneath which two manuscript ink signatures appear.
Obverse lettering Åtta Schillingar Banco, som uti Riksens Ständers Wäxel-Banque blifwit insatte, har Sedelhafwaren at af Banquen emot denna Sedel utbekomma. Reverse description Reverse carries a mirror impression of the obverse letterpress text, visible as a strong set-off through the thin paper stock, with no intentional printing or additional design elements. The show-through of the blackletter text and the ruled warning panel are clearly legible in reverse, confirming the uniface nature of the note.
