Reverse description The reverse of the host Bolivian 8 Soles coin features Cerro Rico of Potosí rising above a recumbent llama to the lower left, all within a broad open field. Nine six-pointed stars are arranged in an arc across the upper field. The circular legend REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA encircles the design at the periphery, while the denomination 8S, date 1838, and mint/assayer initials L.M. appear in the lower exergue. A circular Guatemalan Type IV counterstamp displaying a floral or star rosette motif has been applied to the center field, partially obscuring the central design. The border is formed by a continuous reeded rim.
