| Obverse description | Irregular cob flan displaying the crowned royal arms of Castile and León at centre, struck in the characteristic macuquina fashion with a bold raised cross dividing the quartered shield. Two applied countermarks are visible in the field: a small circular sun or wheel punch struck in incuse at lower right, and a second circular countermark at upper left, both serving as Guatemalan government validation marks authenticating the host coin for continued circulation. The surface exhibits natural porosity and toning consistent with hammered silver cobs of the colonial period. |
