| Beschrijving voorzijde | Hammered cob planchet of irregular polygonal form displaying the crowned Royal Arms of Castile and León at center, comprising a quartered shield with castles and lions, supported by ornamental strapwork. A small circular Type II countermark — depicting a radiant sun — is applied at center field, authenticating the piece for Guatemalan circulation in 1839. The underlying host coin's legends and peripheral devices are partially visible but largely worn and incomplete due to the cob striking method. |
