背面描述 Central device consists of the Argentine national arms: an oval shield divided horizontally, the upper half horizontally striated, the lower half bearing two clasped hands holding a pike surmounted by a Phrygian liberty cap. The shield is encircled by a laurel wreath tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The denomination numeral 8 appears to the left of the wreath and the mark R to the right, flanked by the mint and assayer initials RA and P. The peripheral legend EN UNION Y LIBERTAD arcs across the upper field, with the date 1832 appearing in the lower exergual area. A beaded border frames the design.

附加信息

La Rioja's 8 Reales were struck during a period when the Argentine interior provinces operated as effectively autonomous monetary authorities, with Buenos Aires controlling the coast and the Rio de la Plata confederation fragmenting badly under Unitarist-Federalist conflict. La Rioja itself was the power base of Facundo Quiroga, the caudillo whose brutal campaigns defined provincial politics through most of this issue's production window — assassinated in 1835, two years before this type ceased.

The .896 fineness is notably below the old colonial standard, reflecting both metal supply constraints in a landlocked mining province and the absence of any federal assay authority capable of enforcing uniformity across the interior mints.
