Surrounding the central device along the lower periphery is the legend denoting denomination, mint mark, date, assayer initials, and fineness indicators: 8R.Mo.1810.M.H.10Ds.20Gs., arranged in a circular arc within the reeded border. The overall composition conveys Enlightenment-era republican symbolism, consistent with the commemorative and pattern coinage of the early Mexican Republic. |
