Reverse description Host coin reverse displaying the crowned Royal Arms of Spain in shield form at center, flanked by the Pillars of Hercules with legend surrounding the periphery, all in a style consistent with Spanish colonial 8 Reales coinage of the late 18th to early 19th century. The design is heavily worn with much of the fine detail lost, though the central crowned shield and flanking pillars remain partially discernible. The entire surface exhibits the characteristic flat, circulated appearance typical of host coins used for insurgent countermarking during the Mexican War of Independence.
