背面描述	Bold interlaced MA monogram of Maria in the lower field, a large cross pattée rising above it with the denomination numeral 8 to the right and assayer initial R to the left of the cross shaft, all set within a plain inner circle. Small floral or rosette ornaments serve as separators around the central device. The surrounding legend VIRTVTE ET PROTECTIONE arcs around the upper field, with the date 1701 appearing at the base, referencing the divine protection invoked for the new Bourbon monarch. The serrated milled edge frames the entire design, consistent with early Spanish Bourbon milled coinage practice.
