The shield is flanked by the collar and badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The mint marks S and M appear to either side of the shield in the field. The circular legend reads CAROLVS II D G HISPANIA REX, distributed around the periphery within a milled border. |

The denomination mark R 8 appears to either side of the cross shaft, indicating 8 Reales. The circular legend VIRTVTE ET PROTECTIONE, with the date 1700, runs around the periphery punctuated by rosette ornaments, all within a milled border. |
