Reverse description The reverse of the host coin features a bold, forward-facing Mexican imperial eagle with wings spread, perched upon a cactus plant growing from a rocky outcrop, its head turned to the right and clutching a serpent in its beak, in the style of the First Mexican Empire coinage of 1822. The eagle is shown without a crown or shield, consistent with the early republican-era imperial type. The peripheral legend encircles the design, reading MEX · I · IMPERATOR · CONSTITUT · 8 · R · J · M ·, identifying the denomination, monarch, and assayer initials. A fine denticled border frames the entire design.
