| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse of the host coin displays the classic Pillars of Hercules type, with two crowned columns flanking a pair of crowned hemispheres resting upon stylised waves, the whole surmounted by a large royal crown. The legend VTRAQUE VNUM encircles the upper field, with the mint mark Mo appearing to either side in the lower field and the date 1762 in the exergue. Superimposed upon the upper field is the Philippine countermark of Isabella II: a small crowned cross (castillo-style) punched in intaglio, authenticating the coin for circulation in the Philippine Islands during the period 1834–1837. |
