The circular legend 'PROVINCIAS DEL RIO DE LA PLATA' runs along the outer border, separated from the design by a dentilated inner ring. The entire field is framed by a beaded border. The countermark was applied over the sun face of this Argentine host coin during the period 1834–1837 to validate its circulation in the Philippines. |
