Reverse description A stylized depiction of a mountain or volcanic peak, representing the Cerro de la Bufa, the iconic hill of Zacatecas, surmounted by a cross and flanked by small circular ornaments, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The letters L.V.O. appear below the mountain within the beaded circle, serving as the assayer initials. The peripheral legend MONEDA.PROVISIONAL DE ZACATECAS encircles the design, identifying this as the provisional coinage of Zacatecas. The engraving is deliberately simple, consistent with the emergency circumstances of its production during the Wars of Independence.
