| Obverse description | Type I oval countermark applied over the host coin's field, depicting the crowned Spanish coat of arms quartered with castles and lions, surmounted by a royal crown, all enclosed within a serrated border. The surrounding circular legend reads HABILITADO POR EL REY N.S.D. FERN VII, denoting validation by King Ferdinand VII. The underlying host coin design — a Peruvian 8 Reales — remains partially visible beneath the countermark impression. The serrated border of the oval stamp is clearly defined and typical of the Manila authorization markings of this period. |
