| Obverse description | The obverse displays the right-facing laureate bust of Agustín I (Agustín de Iturbide), Emperor of Mexico, with naturalistic hair detail and a plain truncation. A Philippine countermark, applied between 1832 and 1834, is struck over the neck and lower jaw area, depicting a crowned 'F.7.o' (for Ferdinand VII) within an oval incuse punch surmounted by a royal crown. The peripheral legend reads AUGUSTINUS DEI PROVIDENTIA, with the date 1822 positioned in the lower exergual area and the mint mark Mo visible. |
