Obverse description The obverse of the host coin features a large ceiba tree at center, its spreading canopy filling the upper field, flanked by the denomination indicators '8' and 'R' at mid-field. A Philippine countermark — comprising a royal crown surmounting the cypher 'F.7.o' (for Fernando VII) — is applied at center, struck over the trunk of the tree. The circumferential legend reads '• LIBRE CRESCA FECUNDO •' in the upper arc, with mint, assayer, and fineness indicators 'NG • M • 10Ds • 20Gs' in the lower arc, all in Latin capitals.
