The mint mark of Segovia, depicted as a single-arched aqueduct, appears vertically in the field. The denomination mark VIII in Roman numerals is positioned prominently adjacent to the shield. The surrounding legend reads PHILIPPVS·IIII·D·G·, identifying Philip IV as King by the Grace of God. The entire design is executed in the characteristic roller-milled style of the Segovia mint, with a beaded border encircling the composition. |

A plain cross divides the shield into four equal fields. The peripheral legend HISPANIARVM·REX encircles the design, accompanied by the date 1659 and the assayer initials BR. A beaded rim borders the entire reverse, consistent with the roller-milled production technique of the Segovia mint. |
