Reverse description Central design featuring a large crowned castle (representing Castile) occupying the field, with the Lima mint mark (L or LIMA) and assayer's initial (M or V) flanking the tower at mid-height, and the date (16[59] or 16[60]) inscribed in the lower portion of the castle. The denomination numeral 8 appears to the right, accompanied by the assayer letter V, all enclosed within a beaded inner border. The irregular cob flan results in partial legend and border visibility, characteristic of the macuquina coinage produced at Lima during this period.
