| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse of the host coin displays the armored bust of Ferdinand VII facing right, with the legend FERDIN·VII·DEI·GRATIA surrounding the effigy and the date 1810 in the exergue. Superimposed upon the bust is the Chilpanzingo Type A countermark, consisting of an eagle displayed within a wreath, applied by the insurgent forces of the Suprema Junta Nacional Americana during the Mexican War of Independence. Adjacent to the bust, to the right, appears the oval LVS countermark. Both countermarks were applied to validate the coin for use in insurgent-controlled territory. |
