Reverse description Central device features the quartered royal arms of Spain within a shield, displaying castles for Castile and lions for León in the first and fourth quarters respectively, with the Bourbon fleur-de-lis escutcheon at the center; the lower quarters continue the Castile and León arrangement. The crowned shield is surmounted by a royal crown. To the left of the shield appear the mint mark 'M' below and assayer initials 'R' above, while the denomination '8' appears to the right with assayer letters 'FA' below it. The circumferential legend HISPANIARUM · REX · runs around the field, and the entire design is enclosed within a uniform milled toothed border.
