| Beschrijving voorzijde | Typical macuquina (cob) type obverse displaying a partially struck crowned royal coat of arms of Spain, showing the quartered shield with castles and lions in the respective quarters. The irregular flan, characteristic of hand-hammered cob coinage, results in incomplete legend retention around the periphery. A circular hole, likely pierced for use as a pendant or keepsake, is visible in the upper portion of the flan. The overall surface exhibits the rough, porous texture intrinsic to cast and hammered silver planchets of the colonial Mexican mint. |
