Reverse description Central cross of Jerusalem divides the field into four quadrants, each bearing alternating castles (Castile) and lions (León), forming the traditional quartered arms of the Spanish monarchy. A partial circular legend in Latin surrounds the design, with the date partially visible near the upper portion of the flan. The strike is characteristic of hammered cob coinage, resulting in an irregular flan with portions of the legend and design off the planchet.
