| 背面描述 | Imperial orb surmounted by an ornate cross patée, with the numeral '8' inscribed within the orb to denote the face value of 8 Pfennig. The date 1703 is divided across the upper field to either side of the cross, with the mint official's initials 'I A' placed below the crossbar. The surrounding legend VON FEINEN SILBER attests to the silver fineness of the coin, arranged around the periphery of the field within a beaded border. |

Saxe-Eisenberg was among the most short-lived of the Saxon partition duchies, surviving only from 1680 until 1707, when it was absorbed back into Saxe-Altenburg upon the death of Duke Christian without a male heir. Christian ruled this pocket territory — barely viable as an independent fiscal unit — yet maintained a full mint operation, issuing coins across multiple denominations in the final years of his reign. This 8 Pfennig piece in billon dates to just four years before that extinction.
