The mint mark 'P.' appears to the left of the bust and the denomination numeral '8' to the right. The date 1823 is placed in the lower portion of the legend, flanked by dots. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery reading FERDIN · VII · D · G · ET C · HISP · REX, identifying the monarch as King of the Spains by the grace of God. The portrait is rendered in a neoclassical style characteristic of early nineteenth-century Spanish copper coinage. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central field features the quartered arms of Castile and León — castles and lions alternating in the four quarters — surrounding a central roundel bearing the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty. The entire heraldic composition is encircled by an elaborate scrolling foliate wreath of oak or laurel branches that fills the field to the rim. No peripheral legend is present; the design relies entirely on the decorative armorial motif. The overall execution is typical of the cast copper maravedis produced at the Pamplona mint during the constitutional period of Ferdinand VII's reign. |
