Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the denomination VIII SKILLING DAN is inscribed in three lines across the field, with an oval cartouche below bearing the fractional value relative to the corona danica standard. The surrounding outer legend, running along the rim outside the beaded circle, names the king's additional titles and carries the date; legend reads NORV. VAND. GOTO. REX followed by the year (1620 or 1621), with the mintmark appearing at the end. Variant spellings and oval types (ornate or plain) occur depending on the issuing mint.
