Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of Cologne — a Latin cross dividing the shield into four quarters — set within an ornate baroque cartouche surrounded by foliate decoration. The heraldic shield is surmounted by an electoral hat or crown. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, identifying the issuing archbishop.
