| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the quartered arms of Bavaria-Pfalz, surmounted by an electoral princely crown, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The four quarters display the characteristic lozengy field of Bavaria and the lion passant of the Palatinate. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer rim, identifying the issuing archbishop. The mintmaster's initials FW appear within or adjacent to the shield. The overall die engraving is in the baroque style typical of early eighteenth-century Rhenish ecclesiastical coinage. |
