Reverse description Plain field bearing the large denomination numeral '8' at the top center, flanked by two small rosette or star ornaments, followed below by the word 'HELLER' in bold block capital letters, and the date '1777.' at the bottom. The inscription is arranged in three lines within a beaded or toothed border, in a simple and legible typographic style. No additional devices or mintmarks are present. The stark, unadorned layout is typical of Hessian copper subsidiary coinage of the period.
