Reverse description Central field presents the arms of the Electorate of Cologne, depicting a patriarchal or archiepiscopal cross — a double-barred cross — set within a beaded inner circle, consistent with the heraldic tradition of the Cologne archbishops. The surrounding Latin legend reads +P R ELEC T COLO N BA-D, abbreviating Princeps etElector Coloniensis Bavariae Dux, identifying Ferdinand of Bavaria as Prince, Elector of Cologne, and Duke of Bavaria. The hammered flan shows characteristic irregularity at the edges, and the relief is moderately bold despite wear. The design follows the established typology of Cologne Heller coinage of the early to mid-seventeenth century.
