| Additional information |
Victor II Frederick ruled Anhalt-Bernburg during the Seven Years' War, a conflict that put enormous fiscal strain on the small Saxon principalities caught between Prussian and Austrian maneuvering. Emergency and transitional silver issues from these minor German states in 1760 were often struck under duress, with minting contracts farmed out under pressure and quality suffering accordingly. Anhalt-Bernburg's output from this period is sparse in surviving documentation.
The 8 Gute Groschen denomination was a practical subdivision of the Thaler system, intended for regional commerce rather than prestige issue.
