A prominent circular countermark applied by the Manila Mint is struck over the lower cheek and jaw area of the bust, depicting the crowned royal cypher of Queen Isabella II of Spain (Y·II) flanked by a crowned shield, all within a raised beaded circle. The mint name BOGOTA arcs across the upper field, while the denomination numeral 8 appears at the left and the letter S at the right, with the assayer initials S·R positioned in the lower field below the wreath.
