Reverse description The quartered arms of Spain displayed within an ornate crowned shield at center, featuring the castles of Castile and the lions of León in the principal quarters, with the fleurs-de-lis of the Anjou dynasty in the fourth quarter and the pomegranate of Granada at the base, surmounted by an imperial crown. The denomination numeral 8 appears to the left of the shield and the assayer's initial S to the right. The mint mark LM (Lima) and assayer initials JP appear in the lower field flanking a small crown. The circumferential legend reads · HISP · ET · IND · R · within a toothed border.
