(Translation: Fernando VI by the grace of God King of Spain and the Indies)
Reverse description Central device comprises the crowned Royal Arms of Spain, displaying the quartered shield with castles and lions, surmounted by an elaborate royal crown. The shield is encircled by a decorative chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece. To the left of the shield appears the assayer initial J, and to the right the denomination numeral 8; the mint mark G appears at the lower left and right flanking the base. The circular legend NOMINA MAGNA SEQUOR runs around the periphery, separated from the milled rim border by a continuous serrated edge.
